The best dang cinnamon rolls EVER

One of my personal goals (not  resolution, I hate those things) is to become a better cook. Like I have said before, I do not want my offspring to die of starvation because mama can’t cook. So I have been looking at recipes online and giving them a try. Some, well, they suck! (and no it wasn’t operator error.) Some were okay. And every once in a blue moon you find a recipe to die for. THIS is that recipe!

What makes them so good? They are super easy, fast, stuffed with cream cheese and taste like something from Entenmann’s! So here is the tale of an amazing breakfast recipe that after I tweeked it became the best dang cinnamon rolls EVER!!

Ingredients

1 8 count can of cinnamon rolls WITH icing
8 once pack of cream cheese softened
2/3 cup powder sugar
1 tsp vanilla

First you roll the cinnamon rolls out flat. My sous chef is seven and a boy so there was also some smushing with the palm of the hand too! LOL After they are flat you line the bottom of the pan with four of them.

Next you need to make your “filling.” Cream together the pack of cream cheese, powder sugar and vanilla. Ours had a few lumps I had to work out since my sous chef decided at that point his arm hurt and he was done with helping! Once it is nice and creamed together you spread it over the cinnamon rolls in the pan.

Finally you top the filling with the remaining four flat cinnamon rolls and you are ready to pop that bad boy in a 350 degree over for about 22 minutes. I say ABOUT because every ones oven is different and you just need to look at it and see if it is done. If it doesn’t look “right” give it a few more minutes and check again.

Once they are done, drizzle the icing that came with the cinnamon rolls on top. I know your thinking, that it is going to be overly sweet but it wasn’t. Let it stand for a few minutes to cool. It might look like the inside isn’t done if you cut into it right away, but it is. So for presentation purposes and so you don’t burn your mouth on the hot filling, wait five to ten minutes. I know it will be hard because it will smell and look so yummy, but wait. LOL

These turned out so good, that my hubby came home the other day with two more rolls of cinnamon rolls and two more bricks of cream cheese. What does that tell you!?!?!
