After being in the ER last weekend, I had to take it slower this week. I had very little energy physically, even though my mind keep nagging at me about the things that needed to get done. After eating spinach every for lunch and adding in a one a day women’s vitamin with iron, I am proud to say, yesterday I finally felt almost like my old self. Too bad I still had to take lots of breaks when doing things around the homestead.
Our annual Spring Fling Giveaway event is half way through with our last prize opening today. Now it will be over a week of giveaways closing, randomly picking winners, getting mailing info and send out prize. I sure hope everyone is having fun with these great giveaways from some amazing folks.
So what made me smile this week?
“None shall pass!” Heidi the Homestead Hound may be a big girl, but she totally respects the cat’s authority! |
Sneaking back into the day pen when Buffy has her head turned. Buffy has been giving the littles a hard time. |
Group photo of the new girls. They are growing up fast! |
Our camping spot for our annual Halloween camping trip this year. They book up fast! I think we got a really pretty spot this year. |
Chickens are NOT vegetarians, just ask Grumpy Goldie who pilfered this pork from the littlest country kid. |
Speaking of Grumpy Goldie, check out these beautiful father patters. I love this hen!! |
And speaking of love, I love Ester’s puffy cheeks! |
Is it just me or does Buffy look like she has boogers? I so wanted to pick her nose, but I controlled myself. I know I wouldn’t want someone grabbing me and picking my nose! |
The other night the littlest country kid would NOT go to bed. I sent him back to bed a million and one times. Finally he said “I can’t go to bed mom, the moon is out and I just love the moon so much!” I get it little man, the moon is a magical thing. Ah the simple joys of childhood. Maybe we should all slow down and enjoy them more. |
Hoping you are recouping but it is so great that you always find positive articles to share
I am feeling a tad better but still very tired. I figure if you don't find your own happiness, no one is going to give it to you!
Oh, wow! That moon picture is extraordinary!!! Love all the chick pics….especially the close-ups. Wanda shares the name of her breed with a place I lived in Northern California! Wyandotte! Interesting, huh? Dogs and cats are always fun….and your cat is gorgeous!! Thanks for the great pics! Dona
Awww thank you for all the kind words! ๐

Mindie, that is a beautiful photo of the moon! Kids do have a way of seeing what we might easily miss, don't they? Praying you get your strength back right away! Visiting today from Good Morning Mondays. Have a blessed week!
Thank you. Believe it or not I took that photo with my phone! LOL

Thank you for sharing this lovely post with us at Hearth and Soul, Mindie! I love what your little boy said about the moon! I always enjoy this little peek into your week – it was great to 'meet' your hens and I'm so glad you are beginning to feel better.
I love being able to let folks be a part of our family. Some blogs are so impersonal, but not us! LOL
