A Week of Homestead Photos June 19th – 25th

The weather finally broke! I was dying in those 90+ degree days last week. It is amazing what a 10 – 15 degree difference makes! The chickens appreciate it too as I have noticed they aren’t panting at lock up time, but resting comfortably on their roost.

We are continuing with operation “Leave it to Beaver Summer” or as the oldest country kid says, “Why can’t I sit in front of the (fill in electronic device)?!!?!?!” We have been working on our sidewalk chalk skills (I must admit, I’m getting pretty good), hitting a library in the park event, the country kids are learning to make their own treats, and of course swimming.

I also let them spend an afternoon playing Wii games. What? It’s not like I didn’t have an Atari when I was a kid. Ahhh good old pong…… It was so funny listening to them fight, laugh and learn to work together to accomplish goals.

So what made me smile this week?

Mr. Bill flexing for the ladies.

Teaching the littlest country kid how to make brownies.

Fridge cleaning day! Wanda wasn’t sure about lettuce.

The oldest country kid leaning to make popsicles. So glad I put a pan under
the mold or all the liquid would have been everywhere!

Ms. Wanda growing into her feather pattern. So pretty!

Library in the park, farm day, Milking a cow. Go littlest country kid!

He was in love with the sheep, which is funny because he didn’t
enjoy bottle feeding lambs when we did it.

My beautiful Betty!

Wanda having a snack at the patio table. Now I know who had been pooping in my lawn chairs!

“Take my picture mom, cause I really love her.”
Play in the clean pool!?!?! But there is a mud puddle mom!

There is nothing like a happy duck in a clean pool first thing in the morning!

The oldest country kid is part of an autism spectrum
program at a zoo. They had so much fun doing yoga!

4-H picnic and swim party. The oldest country kid
was pretty brave hanging with a herd of girls!

Check out this beautiful pile of plants I got got just $10!! Now if that doesn’t make you smile, then maybe the fact that the greenhouse said they would give me all of these for $10 and a song and dance will make you smile. I busted out my best rendition of “I want a hippopotamus for Christmas” and shook my grove thang!!!
Mine, all mine! For just $10!

Remember to take time out of your busy day to find your own things to make you smile!
