A Week of Homestead Photos May 29th – June 4th

Our garden is in and growing like gangbusters! The potatoes are going wild. I am so excited to see what kind of harvest we will get this fall.

It’s been a pretty calm week here, well except for that one time the oldest country kid started a fire in the kitchen trying to boil water. LOL Yup, he turned on the wrong burner and I am still not sure why there were flames shooting up around the empty pan. No worries, I put it out quick enough and calmed a very upset young man. I am proud to say, he continued on with his cooking and finished making lunch! So proud of him for not giving up.

So what made me smile this week?

We are going to have a bumper crop of black raspberries this year!

Nothing like a farm girl manicure.

Fifi decided to give the top roost a try. She is a brave little pullet.

Lily is my gardening buddy. She promised not to nibble anything.

The sparrows are recycling any dropped chicken feathers they find.

Our newest member to the homestead, Layla.

We will call this “Duck in motion.” Baby Girl loves her pool time.

The littlest aren’t so little anymore. My babies are growing up and becoming beautiful young girls.

Silly Baby Girl sitting in a dirty pool. She REALLY loves the pool. Ick!

Making new friend one inch worm at a time.

Buffy looked a little ticked of and bewildered about Fifi continuing to try to roost on the “Big Girl” roost.

A female mason bee who laid her eggs in our bee condo.

Baby Girl is very impatient while waiting for HER pool to be filled.
Have I mention that she REALLY loves the pool?!?!

“Hi mom, do you have any treats?”

Spoil, spoon fed chickens. Rice, it’s what’s for treat time!

They followed me back to the house demanding treats.

Nothing like make believe camping, complete with a “fire” and roasting stick, to make childhood memories.

Remember to take time out of your busy day to find your own things to make you smile!
