A Week of Homestead Photos August 21st – 27th

Hubby was on vacation this week. Since money is tight and we have critters to take care of, we didn’t go any where as usual. But we did have fun being adults when the country kids went to their grandparents for a few days!

Adult? Oh yeah, we are wild and crazy. We made a run to Sam’s club, hit a casino with $5 each and came out 3 cents ahead, and even when and had an adult beverage!

We found new homes for half of our duckling this week. They went to a family with five children who will love on them. I am so happy they went to a great home.

So what made me smile this week?

Heidi the Homestead Hound and her crazy face! What ever you do dog, don’t look at the camera!

Love his giggles!!
The littlest country kid… chicks dig him!

Hubby and I visited a casino and won!!! Check out our winnings! LOL

When the kids are away, mama will play! This is called a June Bug.
Not sure if I liked it, but it definitely did the trick.

Our mystery bug, that turned out to be Pennsylvania Leatherwing Beetle
that not only eats aphids but doubles as a pollinator!

Family portrait from Duckingham Palace.

Nom Nom Nom

Bed time snack attack!

Some of our ducklings heading to their new home where they will be thoroughly loved by five new country kids.

After the first group of ducklings left, Baby Girl has been keeping the remain babies very close.

The oldest country kid made me a special button because I take
him Pokemon hunting, so now I am the PokiMOM.

My beautiful Cinder.

There is just something about her eyes!

Who needs a rubber ducky when you have one of these!

Remember to take time out of your busy day to find your own things to make you smile!

  1. Wonderful pics again this week!! The videos are priceless!! But my fave has to be Cinder's close-up. Love how those tiny feathers kind of curl up…she's beautiful! Dona

    1. Isn't she beautiful. I love to watch how the sun reflects off her feathers and makes them shine and pop.

  2. As an old hen myself, I want to congratulate you on your life style choices, you got your priorities straight girl. Your pictures made me smile, I even enjoyed your pretty beetle photo. Thanks for sharing. Leanna

  3. As always, you guys have so much fun each week! 🙂

Thanks for joining Cooking and Crafting with J & J!

  4. Love it! That first video was hilarious. My 3 year old and I used to let the chickens eat berries out of our hand, but quickly put that to an end because they get a little too excited. ha ha

  5. Glad you got some time with your husband on your own. That Leatherwing Beetle sounds really handy to have around. And love the cute photos of the ducklings and the 'salad bar'! Thank you for being a part of our Hearth and Soul Hop.
