There is a first time for everything and with children there are many, many, many first times. We were bless to have the chance to give our neighbor’s little girl her first time meeting a chicken. We tried playing Chicken Frisbee so she could watch them run around the yard, but she too wanted those saltine crackers! She had such a good time running across the yard!
We took her to the coop to check for eggs. Notice she still has some saltine cracker in her little hand!
And my oldest got his favorite hen for the little girl to pet. Now the little girl did call the chicken “Duke?” her dog’s name. And she did meow at the chicken. But hey, even if she didn’t know WHAT it was, she liked it. Which goes to show, don’t knock something till you try it, you might like it!
